How Print on Demand Works

What does "print on demand" mean?

Nothing sits in a warehouse waiting for you. When you place an order, your item is printed and made just for you. That means less waste, no overstock, and way more designs to choose from than a traditional shop could carry.

Where are your products made?

Most of our products are printed by production partners in the USA. Our magnets are made by a partner in Canada. Every design on every product is original Planet Static artwork.

Who creates the designs?

All artwork is made for Planet Static: moody retro-tech scenes, old tech overgrown with plants, bold colors and strong silhouettes. You won't find these designs anywhere else. Read more on our About page.

Is every item exactly like the photo?

Very close. Colors can look slightly different depending on your screen, and because each item is printed individually, tiny variations in print placement are normal.

Orders

How long does it take to make my order?

Production takes 2–5 business days. Business days don't include weekends or US holidays.

Why did my order arrive in separate packages?

Different product types are made at different facilities. For example, magnets are made in Canada while shirts and mugs are made in the USA. If your order has a mix, it may arrive in more than one package, each with its own tracking.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Message us as soon as possible. Once your order goes into production, it can't be changed or canceled, so the sooner you reach out, the better the chance we can help.

I entered the wrong shipping address. What now?

Do I need an account to order?

No. You can check out as a guest. You'll get an order confirmation and shipping updates by email either way.

Shipping & Tracking

How much does shipping cost?

US shipping is $1.99 on orders under $40 and free on orders of $40 or more.

How long does delivery take?

After production, US orders usually arrive in 5–10 business days. Magnets ship from Canada and may take a little longer to reach US addresses.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. International shipping costs and delivery times are calculated at checkout based on your address.

Will I have to pay customs or import fees?

Orders shipped outside the country they're made in may be subject to customs duties or import taxes, set by your country. These aren't included in our prices and are the responsibility of the buyer.

How do I track my order?

You'll get an email with a tracking link as soon as your order ships. If your order arrives in multiple packages, you'll get tracking for each one.

My tracking hasn't updated. Should I worry?

Usually not. Tracking can take 1–2 days to show movement after a label is created. If it still hasn't moved after 5 business days, message us and we'll check with the carrier.

My tracking says delivered, but I don't have it.

Check around your door, mailbox, and with neighbors or building staff, and give it one more day since carriers sometimes mark packages early. Still missing? Contact us with your order number.

What if my package is lost?

Reach out with your order number and we'll work with the carrier and our production partner to sort it out.

Returns, Refunds & Issues

Can I return or exchange an item?

Because every item is made just for you, we can't accept returns or exchanges for sizing, color preference, or change of mind. Please check the size chart before ordering.

What if my item arrives damaged, misprinted, or wrong?

We'll make it right. Contact us within 30 days of delivery with your order number and a clear photo of the problem, and we'll send a free replacement or a refund.

Do I need to send the item back?

In most cases, no. A photo is usually all we need.

How long do refunds take?

Once a refund is approved, it goes back to your original payment method. Most banks show it within 5–10 business days.

Sizing & Fit

How do I find my size?

Every clothing product page has a size chart. For the best fit, measure a shirt you already love and compare it to the chart.

Do your shirts run true to size?

Our tees and sweatshirts have a standard unisex fit. If you're between sizes or like a relaxed fit, size up.

Will my shirt shrink?

Cotton blends can shrink slightly. Washing cold and drying low or hanging to dry keeps shrinkage to a minimum.

Care

How do I wash my shirts, hoodies, and sweatshirts?

Turn them inside out, wash cold on a gentle cycle, and tumble dry low or hang dry. Skip bleach and don't iron directly on the print.

Are the mugs and glasses dishwasher and microwave safe?

Check the details on each product page, since it varies by item. Hand washing keeps the print looking its best the longest.

How do I care for tote bags and notebooks?

Spot clean tote bags or hand wash cold and air dry. Keep notebooks dry and away from direct sunlight.

How do I use stickers and magnets?

Apply stickers to a clean, dry, smooth surface and press firmly from the center out. Magnets stick to any clean metal surface, like fridges, lockers, and filing cabinets.

Can I use more than one discount?
